How long does it take to build a website?
Most small business websites take somewhere between five and eleven weeks, depending on their size and features. The clock starts once onboarding is done and I have what I need, and the build itself is rarely the thing that holds it up. Here is what actually drives the timeline.
What the timeline depends on
- Content. Having your text, photos, and logo ready is the single biggest factor. Waiting on content is what stalls most projects.
- Size. A five-page site is quicker than a fifteen-page one with a shop.
- Features. Booking, payments, and a portal each add time to build and test properly.
- Revisions. A couple of rounds of feedback are normal and built in; endless changes stretch things out.
A rough shape of the project
In practice, a Starter site goes live in around five weeks, Growth in about seven, and Premium in roughly eleven. A larger, more feature-heavy build takes longer because there is simply more to design, build, and test properly. Whichever package you choose, you get a realistic launch date up front rather than a vague guess.
How to speed it up
Get your content together early. The projects that fly are the ones where the photos, copy, and brand details are ready to go. If writing is not your thing, that is fine, I will tell you exactly what is needed and help shape it, but having something to work from is what keeps things moving.
